We will be going on the trip around the first two weeks of July (the dates are somewhat flexible). Once we arrive in Cambodia will be coming along side a local church in the capital, Phnom Penh, as well as Action Cambodia (with whom Nathan served with for three years prior to his coming to study at the Master’s Seminary) to serve them and encourage them in the Lord.
The first week we are there we will most likely be making some minor improvements to the church building as well as being involved in teaching English in the evenings at the church as a part of their evangelism ministry. We will also have opportunity to serve some of the churches in the rural areas by running some VBS type programs for the kids in the area to help provide opportunity for the churches there to have long-term relationships and evangelism opportunities in their communities (not many people speak English in the rural areas, so translation will be provided).
The second week we will be running a youth camp with English speaking Cambodians (many of whom will be from an orphanage). For this camp we will be preparing games, activities and working through a Bible study together as a team so that we will be ready to work through it with the youth, focusing on building relationships with the kids in order to encourage them in their personal walks with the Lord.
